Some frequently asked questions about Ens therapy
How many sessions will I need?
This is a common question and as you might expect, it varies from person to person and what we are addressing. Generally speaking a course of treatment for long standing conditions will be between 12 – 14 sessions.
How often will I need treatments?
- If you have an acute injury, then daily treatments are recommended until there is a change and then we will continue with twice weekly sessions.
- If the treatment is for a chronic condition then bi-weekly sessions are recommended. The device delivers a signal to the brain to restore lost cell function, and initially the body is only able to retain this information for 3-4 days. Multiple sessions are needed before the body fully absorbs this information to implement.
- Once the course of treatment is complete a three week break is needed to assess where the body settles with no input from the technology.
How soon after an injury can I receive treatment?
- If I can see you within three hours, the recovery is more likely to be full and happen quickly – this is the optimum time frame for the first session.
- If this is not possible then the advice will always be – the sooner the better.
- If the area of injury is too painful to touch or covered by a dressing then we can work effectively on other areas of the body.
How long does a session last?
Allow 2 hours for the first session and then up to 1 hour for the follow up sessions
How much does a treatment cost?
- The first session is £150
- Subsequent sessions are £75
Does it hurt?
- The short answer is no…
- Recovery does not have any sensations. Injury and illness have sensations (pain/ discomfort) to alert the brain to send nutrients and hormones to repair the cells. Wellness on the other hand does not need to signal any instructions to the brain. If you think about when you ave a headache – you are aware of when the pain starts, but not when it leaves.
- There may be some sensations during the treatments – tingling and warmth may be felt under the area where the device is placed.
- You may feel sensation in other areas of your body such as temperature changes or a feeling of relief from tensions – some have described feelings of having received a massage for the deepest muscle layers. It is very personal and therefore different for each person and for each session.
- There may also be some discomfort as energy shifts.
- On very rare occasions the area where the device has been placed may exhibit some discolouration from toxins that are released from the body.
- After a session you may feel tired or have more energy as your body processes the work – everyone has a different response and you may not be aware of any recovery reaction at all.
Do I need to prepare for a session?
- There is nothing specific that you need to do for the session
- Good nutrition and hydration help any healing process so this is always advisable
- Wear comfortable clothes that allow access to any areas of discomfort and remember that I will need to gain access to your spine to take assessment readings and carry out treatment, some people like to wear a cardigan/ zip through sweatshirt to the session so that they can put it on back to front while I work on their back.
